January 21, 2010

I would like to wish every a somewhat belated "Happy New Year", time goes flying by as I write this blog. The New Year is upon us, Gabby's Basketball is taking a lot of our time, practice, games, and making sure school work is kept up to par through all the extracurricular. Peter started College this week, teaching 2 classes this semester. Then Keeping the restaurant open 5 nights through the winter which we have always done. Our philosophy on this is to keep our hours dependable for our customers. There may be the occasional bad weather last minute decision not to open. But you guys can depend on Wednesday Through Sunday.
We are offering a 2-Course for $16.00 Prix-Fixe menu on Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday night. Some great comfort food for these cold winter nights at a reasonable price. So come join us, Peter makes some great Fried Chicken and being from Kentucky myself, I do know Fried Chicken.
It was a great day on Saturday for EAGLEFEST, weather was beautiful. It was so nice to see Narrowsburg abuzz for Eagle Watchers, people just enjoying a beautiful day outdoors. Thanks to the Delaware Valley Eagle Alliance for working so hard on this event. We appreciate the opportunity to provide dinner for the presenters and volunteers each year.
So now we look toward Valentine's Day in February...Like every year we will be offering a very special menu for Valentine's Day. Make your reservations early we tend to fill up fast for this day.
Hope everyone is enjoying our mild January, I know that I am. I know that when the very cold snowy days come back, it is going to be a little disappointing and hard to take. But after all it is winter in the Northeast so I guess we should just be happy for this small break.
As always I would like to say Thank You to my Staff.....And to our Loyal Customers, we do appreciate each and every one of you.

December 26, 2009

Christmas Day is over and now we are approaching the New Year. 2010 is just around the corner and We would like to wish everyone a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year. We will be open with a Special Prix Fixe Menu for New Year's Eve. We always enjoy doing this each year, and enjoy all of the customers that spend it with us. Peter is once again preparing an outstanding menu.
We would also like to take this opportunity to Thank all of those who have supported us this year. Our customers really mean a lot to us and without them, we would not be getting ready to celebrate our 4 year anniversary on January 31, 2010. These four years have flown by, I can't even believe it has been four years. Thank you to everyone that appreciates Peter's talents and the wonderful meals that we consistantly put out.
There are some rumors out there that we are closing, they are untrue, we are open for business as usual. The year has been challenging for most businesses, but we are continuing to put out great meals, great service and just an all around great experience for our customers.
We would also like to thank our Staff for another Great Year, we could not do what we do without them. They believe in what we do and that is what makes them the best staff in Sullivan County, New York.
Happy New Year to everyone and we hope to see you New Year's Eve and in the coming Year.

November 21, 2009

Time is moving fast again and we are quickly approaching Thanksgiving, as always we will be serving Thanksgiving Dinner at Restaurant 15 Main for all of those who would like for someone else to cook. We will be offering a 3 course Prix Fixe menu for $32.00 plus tax & gratuity and as always Peter will have a delicious menu.

After Thanksgiving we will be offering a special menu on Wednesday & Thursday evenings. We decided to celebrate our 4th anniversary early (it is 1/31/10).. The Menu will be 3 courses for $20.10. This begins on 12/02/09, come help us celebrate.

The days are getting shorter and cooler, but I am so thankful that the weather has not been horrible. Considering our summer was not that warm, November has been bearable thus far. There are still days to go for walks, cook on the outside firepit and just enjoy the outdoors.

Narrowsburg will be decorating soon for the Holiday Season, there will be Christmas trees lining the streets and it will be beautiful as always. Main Street merchants are working diligently to get them adorned with lights and get them up. I also hear there will be a Santa sighting soon.

We would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. The perfect time to show how much we all appreciate what we have, Family, Friends and Health being the most important of those.

Hope to see you soon at Restaurant 15 Main

October 21, 2009

I really didn't realize that it has been so long since I did any blogging. The summer months are very business and not time to blog. For all of those who live in this area, we know that now is slow down time, and more time to blog. So here goes....
This week starts "Restaurant Week along the Delaware River" which 15 Main will be participating in. It is the brainchild of KKPR a marketing group located in Milford and owned by Katrina Foster. Hats off to Katrina for the wonderful job she has done with media coverage and advertising this event. Peter, Gabby & I were on Thunder 102 promoting it a couple of weeks ago. We hope that it will bring people out and interested in trying our restaurant. The concept was based on NYC Restaurant week, there are 22 restaurants along the Delaware River participating and each restaurant is offering a Three-Course Prix Fixe menu for $32.00 (tax included) from 10/19/09 to 11/01/09. We are honored to be chosen to participate.
Summer was busy for us, what little summer we had, the weather did not cooperate much, and I certainly missed hot weather. Now it seems that we are moving swiftly into winter and fall may be as short as the summer was. Gabby is back in school (of course), Peter and I are stacking firewood, and everyone seems to be preparing for what some say will be a cold, long winter, and Peter is back teaching at Sullivan Community College. We are also trying to add some catering options to our website, that will be coming soon. It seems that we stay busy whatever the season, just in different ways.
On a personal note, we lost our 15 year old Golden Retriever "Kurry" this summer, which was very heartbreaking for all of us. Now we have a new member of the family, she is a beautiful little Lab/Chow Mix, temporarily named "Bear". I forgot what it is like to have a puppy, up at 3:00am to make sure she knows that outside is the place to go. She is adorable and she is a rescue. There are so many animals out there that people just dump, it is very sad. So hopefully training will go well, and "Shadow" the cat will adjust.
I want to say as always, thanks to our loyal patrons, new patrons and all of those that support our business. We work very hard to provide you with what you should expect from any restaurant: Great Service, Great food and Comforting Atmosphere.

July 1, 2009

I can't seem to get to this Blogging thing but once a month now. June was a not so exciting month, maybe writer's block, maybe just nothing to write about. So now we move into what is supposed to be "Season" for Narrowsburg and Sullivan County. There is a lot of talk about how this season will be for merchants in the area, due to the Economy. We are very optimistic because we keep consistantly Serving Great Food, Having Great Atmosphere, and Showing Total Appreciation for our customers.
We live in such a small area that each one of our regular customers is like family to us. In June we grieved the loss of a family member oh too quickly. In June we also celebrated the graduation of 1 staff member, Caitlyn Jordan, and 1 former staff member, Justin Ziser. Congrats to both of them, what an exciting journey they both have ahead of them.
Gabby has gone to Grandma's in Kentucky for a month. We always miss her terribly and cannot wait until she gets back. It does give us time to clean out some stuff without her knowing though, which is good. For Peter and I, when she is gone, the house does not feel the same.
Happy 4th of July to everyone and see you soon.

Friday June 5, 2009

Well spring has sprung, or at least we hope so this time. We hope for an exciting, business filled season. We have new artwork on the walls, a new look to the menu and patio tables/umbrellas are out and ready for a great season.
On the home front, Gabby only has another half day of school after today, YAHOO. We are planting a garden and Pete finally finished the smoker he has been working on. It is going nice for us this summer to have a yard and be able to enjoy it. We had a family cookout here Memorial Day weekend, what a great time. Peter of course prepared way too much food, but I guess it is better to have too much....rather than not enough.
We are now open for Brunch Saturday and Sunday, and for Dinner Wednesday through Sunday. So we will be at the Restaurant a lot, but still have Monday and Tuesday off to recouperate and have some family time.
As always, thanks to those who visit our restaurant and those who read this blog. Short and sweet today, time is a commodity for me right now. Have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you at Restaurant 15 Main.

April 24, 2009

Once again, I have been very delinquent in posting to my blog. Things have been very busy in the Schott household. My Mother & my Aunt were here for a week for Gabby's 13th Birthday. I think we celebrated her Birthday for about 4 weeks, we still have balloons in the house. The next week my Sister Jessica and her Boyfriend Jon were here for Easter. So there has been no time to Blog. Today is the first day I can remember that I don't have to rush out of here and get something else done. So I am attempting to catch up on things, including my blogging.
We had a wonderful Easter, Brunch at the Restaurant and then a family gathering @ Aunt Patty's. While at Aunt Patty's we had great food and went Ostrich hunting. I know, farfetched but, the story is, that someone that lives in the vicinity went into the woods and saw an Ostrich. A science teacher, so you gotta believe the story, and it isn't as farfetched as it seems. I guess there are people around that raise them, so maybe one escaped...I don't know. But the women of the family decided, (because the men were watching golf) to take a little trek in the woods and see if we could see anything. We didn't, but made up some stories to tell the guys, of course they didn't believe us. We had a wonderful time with the whole thing.
On April 18, Peter gave a cooking demonstration for Upper Delaware Lifestyles, on how to make Ricotta Gnocchi. There were lots of people in Narrowsburg for the event and we had about 25 people in the kitchen for the demonstration. I would like to thank Elaine & Peg for putting on such a great event to draw people into Narrowsburg. It always helps for new people to discover our Artsy, Eclectic little town, hopefully they will return many more times.
The weather forecast for this weekend could not make me happier. Those of you that know me, know that I am a Southern girl and the hotter the better. I cannot wait for those 80 degree temperatures, and lots and lots of sunshine. Hopefully people will be out and about....looking for a wonderful dinner @ Restaurant 15 Main. Hopefully I can sneak in a little sunshine time for myself.
Everyone have a great sunshine filled weekend and hope to see you at the Restaurant soon.
