October 21, 2009

I really didn't realize that it has been so long since I did any blogging. The summer months are very business and not time to blog. For all of those who live in this area, we know that now is slow down time, and more time to blog. So here goes....
This week starts "Restaurant Week along the Delaware River" which 15 Main will be participating in. It is the brainchild of KKPR a marketing group located in Milford and owned by Katrina Foster. Hats off to Katrina for the wonderful job she has done with media coverage and advertising this event. Peter, Gabby & I were on Thunder 102 promoting it a couple of weeks ago. We hope that it will bring people out and interested in trying our restaurant. The concept was based on NYC Restaurant week, there are 22 restaurants along the Delaware River participating and each restaurant is offering a Three-Course Prix Fixe menu for $32.00 (tax included) from 10/19/09 to 11/01/09. We are honored to be chosen to participate.
Summer was busy for us, what little summer we had, the weather did not cooperate much, and I certainly missed hot weather. Now it seems that we are moving swiftly into winter and fall may be as short as the summer was. Gabby is back in school (of course), Peter and I are stacking firewood, and everyone seems to be preparing for what some say will be a cold, long winter, and Peter is back teaching at Sullivan Community College. We are also trying to add some catering options to our website, that will be coming soon. It seems that we stay busy whatever the season, just in different ways.
On a personal note, we lost our 15 year old Golden Retriever "Kurry" this summer, which was very heartbreaking for all of us. Now we have a new member of the family, she is a beautiful little Lab/Chow Mix, temporarily named "Bear". I forgot what it is like to have a puppy, up at 3:00am to make sure she knows that outside is the place to go. She is adorable and she is a rescue. There are so many animals out there that people just dump, it is very sad. So hopefully training will go well, and "Shadow" the cat will adjust.
I want to say as always, thanks to our loyal patrons, new patrons and all of those that support our business. We work very hard to provide you with what you should expect from any restaurant: Great Service, Great food and Comforting Atmosphere.
